Feedback and options for bumper refresh
I use my car to commute on the 401 everyday and have been for 4 years. The body of the car is mint however with construction and random flying objects on the highway my front bumper is pretty weathered. It almost looks sandblasted in parts. My rear bumper also has a couple of little imperfections.
Note, I have the regular E39 front and rear bumpers (non M-bumpers) and I have the dual tip Dinan exhaust (the one meant for non M-bumpers).
So I am looking for options here and would appreciate some feedback and direction:
1. Keep my existing bumpers that have slight imperfections and get them stripped down/repainted. Anyone got any recommendations for good body shops that can do a perfect colour match and good quality paint/workmanship?
2. Get used bumpers the same style as mine in good condition and get those painted and installed. (anyone selling good condition non-M E39 bumpers here?)
3. Do an M-conversion - where would I get the parts; where would be the best place to get it installed (ideally someone familiar with the conversion). The caveat here is that I am not sure if my dual tip Dinan muffler will fit in the exhaust tip cutout of the M-technic rear bumper and if my exhaust would hang too low to begin with - anyone know or have any experience with this?
Thanks!
