2005 M5...questions

I was wondering how reliable are these cars and any issues with them,I know before anyone says "if you have to ask you cannot afford them".What options was available for them, what year would you say is the most reliable for the M5 between 2003-2006.Im going to drive in the winter also with the best snow tires available, are they capable of handling winter driving?..
.Never banned but came very close..three times

Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance, Depends on the previous owner, or owners, some just drive the shit out of them and others appreciate them. I would try to get as much history on the car. As for winter driving, a good set of snow tires and the rest is fun times!! I drove 2 winters with my snows never got stuck; I have Hercules Avalanche tires for winter, has good traction and delivers good performance in the cold and dry days. Price is decent too.

Are you looking for an E39 M5 or E60? The years you mention cover both and they are completely different beasts.
