Thats a matter of opinion. The 3 series just keeps getting bigger and I'm not a fan of bigger cars. Look at the size/weight difference from e30 to e90!
I am a big e36 fan and the e46 was a bit bigger but still a nice size. Maybe thats why I love the new 1 series

That's the reason why I sold my e36 vert after one season. Wasn't too comfortable riding next to a transport where I only come up to the trucks tires. I like the size/mass thing personally. It's all a matter of physics.
