1000% you can just reverse the hinges. You may need to re-mortise the hinges to fit depending on the thickness of the door and definitely will have to re-mortise the strike plate on the opposite side door jam, but your latch hole and fire rating will remain in the same place and intact, respectively.
You will also have to flip the door handle and deadbolt around too, otherwise the keyed entrance will be on the inside
I just helped my brother do this on a fiberglass front entrance door.
PS: people aren't supposed to leave candles burning or neglect a dilapidated roof, but we (the insurance industry) pay for the damage anyways. If you switched a non-fire rated door in place where one was necessary after the inspector awarded the occupancy permit then you may be held responsible for the additional damage, but there would have to be proof you were intentional about the downgrade.
