Wink Light sensor in radio

First, what's up with the search box not taking quotes anymore...?

There's a light sensor in the stock radio beside the volume control, correct? Make the dash/radio lights brighter during the day (or at night if you shine a light on it). Or they dim if you cover the sensor during the day.

What happens if you switch out the radio for aftermarket? Just wondering...

It's working if you buy a CD/radio with illuminate function.
Without this doesn't work.

The deck will just be on full brightness all the time

But the dimmer behind the steering wheel will dim the deck if you want.
