Would you try this (0-150mph in 4 seconds)
Saw this at a show last week, built in the 60s each motor has 300lbs of thrust
No throttle, full on or full off, drum brake to slow you down when you run out of fuel 
From what I have read at 150 you become airborne and spin out.
