reputation is everything when its an investment like a driveway. sure its not an arm and a leg for asphalt but its going to be something that affects your cars and your overall curb appeal. i always tell people when looking into contractors of any sort, to go by reputation not by price point.

this is the cheap type of asphalt that is being used nowadays - cost per 4 car driveway with labour and material is around $750
my neighbour had it done 4 months ago and it looks even worst now.
also if you spill any type of chemical it will burn it and soften the area around it permanently
sealer will help but not much

Grrrr. A foreman just met me @ my house to hear my complaint. He says I have a beautiful driveway. HL3a has more aggregates over HL3 ??? so I am told. Says my driveway will last 15-20 years.

Drove down the street & saw two driveways that were worse ... then he asked for his money.

grrrrr.

Oh, my wife wanted stamped concrete & I wanted to do interlock ... we were @ a stalemate so we settled on asphalt.

Do interlock. You wont regret it. Can last 20-25 years before needing to be redone.
You just need to buy some Roundup from Canadian tire to kill the weeds that can grow in between the bricks every summer.

Rolled cold with not enough bitumin content. Probably a rejected cold load from a municipal job. I've never seen properly rolled HL3a look that bad.

most of these contractors out there nowadays are scammers... or at least, they are so uneducated about the work themselves that they REALLY dont know wtf they are doing.

That is what I have done to my house this summer in Europe. I mean when I park the car and wash it, I never have issues with water. IMho it gives it a nicer look and makes it much classier. The only issues can be weeds, but I am sure you can find on internet how to kill them.

Going with the cheapest quote isn't the best idea. People try to be cheap and then get screwd.
