GTA man convicted of careless driving after bragging online about speeding in his BMW

Rather strange.
I thought you couldn't testify against yourself, and what evidence did the police present to the court...saying something in the forum doesn't mean you did it...or does it?

Well if he didn't do it, he'll have some spare time to think of why he posted that he did!

There is a lot of info stored in the ECU of the modern BMW's and I bet they could connect to the ECU and read the highest speed the vehicle ever attained, along with the odometer reading at that time. That info along with his post is probably all you need for a conviction.

The road he claims to have been speeding on is Apple Blossom Drive, which is a residental area.

*rolls eyes* out of ALL the things going on in the world today - this is what our law enforcement/police have decided to research, track, follow & catch... just shows you how much time they have on their hands.

Meanwhile when we left buffalo, one of the cars got broken into & they stole between 1500-2000$ worth of equiptment, & what did the police do? nothing.... it happens everyday... so they literally did NOTHING.

*SIGH*

I don't know about that. I say stupidity and lack of knowledge of how to act with police. Got him in trouble.

In terms of the case the police got jack. Maybe some circumstantial evidence that are not even going to stand up in court.

But, yes you can get yourself in the tons of hurt, if you can totally incriminate yourself.

What are you talking about? He posted about his actions on an open forum where SOMEONE else made the authorities aware of what he had done.

It's not like they sit there crawling through forums to nab people. Regardless... think before you post comes to mind.

I was just going to post this LOL.

He basically did himself in cause of his guilty plea.

I seriously doubt it wouldve held up in court. Its not like it was a youtube video of him doing it(with recognizable landmarks and his face on camera)

People lie on car forums daily so I dont see it as concrete evidence....but thatalmost doesnt matter since he crumbled and plead guilty anyways. idiot.

I dont think people should be doing that kind of shit (140 in a 40 is really bad) but reporting that from off a forum post is a bit much imho.
if he wanted to do 140 at least take it to the back country road or 401 and take the risk there(or better yet, a track)..a 40 zone is pretty sketch to do those speeds. I still dont think he shouldve been told on though...
we have all done silly things when we were young.
If anything find out where he lives and let his parents know.

This guy is a dumbass on all accounts. Doing 140 in a 40 zone, admitting it online and then pleading guilty to admitting it online. LMFAO!
