e36 hamman fitment 18 X8.5 Et+38

well they should be on their way now, from texas. just bought

18X8.5 ET +38 wheels for my 98 328is

it's lowered pretty low on FK coilovers. can i get some advice for recommended tire size? I want to avoid spacers if possible. seller told me

245/45/18 for front and 255/55/18 for the rear. should work.

any opinions? thanks

lol, seller isn't too bright.

225/40/18 is the typical size. 245/35/18 with rolled rear fenders.

245 is to wide for the front! and man thats a pretty high offset! Spacers will defenatly give the stance a better look on a 18X8.5, id recommend a 215/35/18 tire. Thats what im running on mine and I love the look!

alright thanks. I'm not too worried about stance right now(although i should be haha) just want to make sure i don't rub mainly for now and not buying tires that will rub....spacers can always come later. are you running that size on all 4 spoony?

and i do believe my rear fenders are rolled a bit, previous owner had 19 inch bbs RGR's offset 32 on it. man i wish he woulda sold me those with the car!

245s are not too wide for the front, and will fit without even rolling the fenders. They do require a roll on the rear however.

wow just test fit them. rears look okay(stick out a ton due to my reiger rear bumper how it goes in at the bottom)

front is another story..top of the rim is litterally half a cm away from the coilover hats and im thinking the sidewall of the tire will rub the springs. any thoughts? 5mm spacers will bring it out away from the lock rings but maybe too close to the outside fender well. even if i raise the car 3/4" the springs will still be so close to the tire sidewall..i'm thinking 225/40/18 is my best bet.

im kind of new to this. any help would be great. still cant believe original owner had 19's on there!

does 255's fit the rear of an e36.... sorry to thread jack .... i just bought a set but mine are 17 inches...

I have rolled fenders and the rears rub with people in the back. Wheels are 18 x 8.5 et 48 with 235 tires all around. I wouldn't go any wider than 235's.... whats the point? unless you're running FI 235 is more than plenty for e36's

Trust me, they will fit even with 5mm spacers. You can get a 18x10 with a 285 on the front of an E36 without even rolling the fender.

If your wheels were indeed 8.5 +48 they would hit the struts. Also, you're likely running a 235/40 which will always rub on an E36 - it's too tall.

17x8 but i measured 8.5... imma look at the offset tommorow when im taking off the rims...
