Yeah, that was the plan. just a fluid change, I've read the same thing and I think a change will fix me up...

I talked to Rudi @ Duss Brothers about changing the fluid on auto transmissions, he is strongly against it.

What makes a tranny any different than a diff? Or power steering box? Or engine for that matter? Oil will break down regardless. Lifetime fill is a crock and if it wasn't, they wouldn't sell filters or even the oil to change it.

Yeah, I'm having a bad day...

I dunno guys, he told me he has seen problems show up with some transmissions that changed fluid. Either way, everyone has a mixed opinion on this.
Its all up to the car owner.

Unless he can explain why new fluid would cause a tranny to fail, then I wouldn't believe it. A Flush I can see having problems, but not just a simple fluid change.

I once had him tell me that I couldn't use a re-manufactured drive shaft because they fail, won't be balanced, and are of lesser quality. After telling me this he then proceeded to quote me $1800 for a new drive shaft. I decided to skip his advice and go with a re-manufactured for about $250-300, and It's been great ever since, 3 years or more.

That's just one example, but I've had a few of those over the years with him, and as a result it's made me very skeptical about his advice. He always comes up with bold claims, but rarely has any technical reasons to back them up.

Wow, $1800 for a driveshaft!! How did it fail in first place?

He is just very anal/finicky about the quality of parts he uses. I don't think he ever uses quality aftermarket German parts. Just OEM brands.
