Layover in Munich
I'm spending a few days in Munich on a layover. Other than the BMW factory / museum what else is there to do in Munich?
Also, is it worth staying downtown vs the airport? Do I need/want to rent a car while I'm down there?

The only thing i can really say is that you do not need a car, period. Public transit in Germany will make you shit your pants.

rent a car if you want to experience the autobahn, but i think you used to live in europe so i am sure that is not a thrill for you anymore haha. big things to check out are the glockenspiel, hofbrauhaus, olympic park. if i had the choice i would stay downtown from what i remember the airport is pretty far away from the city

Thanks for the info. I might run by the glockenspiel but can see myself spending some time at the hofbrauhaus .
Sounds like I should be staying downtown.
