Wow that is a lot. It is closely related to the Powertec V8 they use in the Radical SR8LM that did 6:48 at the Nordschliefe...

http://www.powertecracing.com

They make all sorts of versions... 4 cyl, 2.6l 8cyl, 2.8l 8cyl, etc. Not sure what the pricing is there either but contact info on the webpage and shipping from the UK should be easier than from Wisconsin... should you eventually decide your project needs a hayabusa power plant

OK i searched all my options and my best option for the time being is an E30 M3!!!!
So i have made an offer on one and should know pretty soon!
Car has just had a complete respray (never crashed though)and all i see as a bad thing on the car is the interior condition (seat is torn) but i will ditch that anyway. It has full service history in BMW and is a Europameister Ravaglia edition plus it belonged to a friend of mine.
I know its not as fast as others but if my plans go as i have thought them i should have enough cash for either an S52 conversion or a 2.5 S14 build!!!!
Besides i always wanted to go back to this car.
Keeping my fingers crossed!

Congratulations, good luck with the project!

In my opinion you should keep the s14... if you want to do an engine swap to make a really fast e30 you can do it with any e30 without bastardizing a ravaglia M3...

Now I sound like a purist and I made myself throw up in my mouth a little bit

Do what you will-- if you take the s14 out it just means you'll have an awesome engine to throw in a 2002! Haha

I kind of think so too. but it all depends on two things:
a) that i seal the deal and buy it
b)what money i have left and how much it would cost me to do a proper s14 (i need crank pistons inlet etc)
First though lets see if he accepst my offer!

I knew they were rare but didn't realize the Ravaglia's were the rarest road going M3-- only 25 produced! Cool! Fingers crossed for you over here
