Question Best battery?

So my battery's officially dead.

What do you guys recommend for a replacement?

Best place to buy it?

Does Interstate make a battery for the E36 with proper venting? I was looking for one last year and, apparently, there's no listing in the catalog. I used to have one in my E36, but that was years ago.

Partsouce has a $100 battery. Other than OEM ($200?), it was the only one I could find 4 years ago.

+1 on Optima's - I've got red tops in everything I own - Walmart has them for about $200. I won't buy anything else (I've got 4 of these batteries in various cars) They're great for winter cold cranking and they're great if your car sits for a while.

OEM and i've lived in Ab for the past 2 years ( including two -40 winters) never plugged my care in; partly because it had no block heaters, but the battery never failed me during those 2 winters
