the majority of officers show up now, so counting on that is like counting on the prostitute to forget to ask for the money

^^its still incredibly unlikely that you'll get a court date for a 30 or 40$ ticket, although its now *possible* (as opposed to three years ago when realistically it was not.)

The day I went, there were 15 of us or so fighting the tickets, the first 4 or so got off because the officer didn't show. I was the fourth, so others may have got off for the same reason, I don't know, but it did seem like a fairly good likelihood that day. It may still be worth a try...

I did like the analogy of a parking ticket officer compared to a prostitute-very appropriate!
