FS/FT: 1991 318iC

As the title says, I'm considering trading/selling my '91 E30 318i convertible. I bought this car in December of 2008 with about 202,000 km on it, now at 217,xxx. It's black on tan vinyl with a tan softtop and black hardtop. Has a good running M42 and 5-spd manual. Currently on stock bottlecaps with 185/70R14 Michelin X-ice winters, will also come with 15" Racing Dynamics wheels with new summer tires (probably 195/60R15, but I haven't bought them yet).


Good stuff:
- Short shift kit (bought from richie_s999)
- Lowered on E30 M3 springs
- H1/H4 headlights
- Euro grills
- Clear front turn signals and smoked sidemarkers
- M-tech 1 steering wheel
- Heated sport seats (heat works)
- 4.27 LSD (stock)
- Sony stereo with iPod connector
- Volvo lip
- rear headrests


Stuff I've fixed/replaced:
@ 202,000 ish kms
- new e-brake hardware
- all new transmission seals, shifter bushings, and mounts
- new driveshaft centre bearing
- new diff seals and oil
- new trailing arm bushings
- new rear sway links
- new tie rods (right inner and both sides outer)
- new front sway bar links and bushings
- new front control arm bushings
- intake manifold and valve cover painted black, ridges sanded to aluminum
- new rear crank seal
- new thermostat
- new timing chain tensioner
- new upper & lower oil pan gaskets
- new oil filter housing gasket
- new valve cover gasket
- rebuilt rear calipers
- throttle body heater delete (as per this thread -> http://www.m42club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2742 )
- new fuel filter
- oil & filter change
- new coolant (BMW blue)
- gas tank repaired (lines above tank were rusty)
- fabricated new rear exhaust hangers

@205,000 kms
- oil & filter change

@210,000 kms
- new rear pads and rotors, handbrake adjusted
- oil & filter change

@215,000 kms
- oil & filter change

@216,000 kms
- new fuel pump

@217.xxx kms (I'll be installing shortly)
- OBC temp sensor


Things that need work:
- Rear window is falling out of soft top - might be fixable, but top should probably be replaced
- Hardtop has no headliner - could be fixed but I've been driving with it as is
- Paint isn't great - looks good from 5-10 feet but up close has some scratches, dings, etc
- A couple of spots on the body have some rust/rot - under the rear valence on both sides are the worst spots
- Sport seats don't hold their recline adjustment very well - ratchet mechanisms are worn, fairly easy fix I think
- Rear seat is starting to split at the top of the centre seam
- M-tech wheel is a bit worn - I'm going to see if I can clean it up a bit


Spare parts I have:
- 3 oil filters
- new diff mount
- blower motor resistor
- front crank seal
- oil dipstick seal
- original side markers
- original turn signal lenses
- air filter
- 4 new NGK spark plugs
- various spare bulbs
- 1 new tie rod end
- 5-spd transmission, disassembled, needs new input shaft bearing
- 4-piston RX-7 calipers (can be fit as a cheap front BBK -> see http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=156573 for a place to buy brackets, rotors, and fittings)
- possibly some other stuff I can't remember at the moment


I'm not _really_ looking to sell at this point, more interested in trading for an E34 or E39 (preferably a Touring but might consider a sedan) or a 2000-2004 Jetta or Golf TDI. If I were to sell I'd be looking for offers in the $5200 ballpark, including new summer tires, cert, and e-tested, or $4800 without the new tires. For a trade I would be hoping for something of similar value and I also might be willing to add some cash on top of a trade for the right car. The car is in Ottawa normally but I am in Toronto fairly often so I could meet someone there as well.

Bump. Bought new summer tires for it - 195/60R15 Bridgestone Turanza EL400, so the cash price now is $5200 obo cert and e-tested.

Bump - now at 221,500 kms, still running great. New maintenance since last update:

- Right front wheel bearing replaced (new SKF bearing) at 219,110 kms
- Oil change at 220,000 kms

New asking price: $5000 obo, cert & e-tested.

Bump. Car passed the e-test this morning, so it's good to go for a year (two years if you get a 2-year sticker).

Also open to trades for something newer (prefer 2000+), good on gas, and auto. Looking to get something for my GF to drive.
