'Follow the Islamic way to save the world,' Prince Charles urges environmentalists

Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to protect the environment.
In an hour-long speech, the heir to the throne argued that man's destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions - but particularly those of Islam.
He said the current 'division' between man and nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, but also by our attitude to the environment - which goes against the grain of 'sacred traditions'.
Outspoken: Prince Charles speaks to Islamic studies scholars at Oxford. He argued that man's destruction of the world was particularly contrary to Islam

Charles, who is a practising Christian and will become the head of the Church of England when he succeeds to the throne, spoke in depth about his own study of the Koran which, he said, tells its followers that there is 'no separation between man and nature' and says we must always live within our environment's limits.
The prince was speaking to an audience of scholars at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies - which attempts to encourage a better understanding of the culture and civilisation of the religion.
His speech, merging religion with his other favourite subject, the environment, marked the 25th anniversary of the organisation, of which he is patron.
He added: 'The inconvenient truth is that we share this planet with the rest of creation for a very good reason - and that is, we cannot exist on our own without the intricately balanced web of life around us.
'Islam has always taught this and to ignore that lesson is to default on our contract with creation.'
Bored: Not everyone in the audience was as interested as Prince Charles though

Impressive setting: Charles spoke at Oxford University's Sheldonian Theatre

compared to what israelis have done in 60 years
insanely rediculous! and This from a man who's greatest wish is to be re-incarnated as a deadly virus so as to wipe out humanity, to save earth.

What exactly are you trying to get at? All he's saying is that man needs to get back in touch with nature and learn to live with it and not against it. What's so ridiculous about that?

But really.... What is it that keeps humans from seeing or at least acknowledging the obviously self destructive tendencies we keep showing. We are constantly biting the hand that feeds us.

I'll argue that it's contrary to all if not most religions - "we name our children Adam yet pollute the soil".
I know this wouldn't have made Maxbimmers infamous Off-Topic discussion section if it wasn't Islam related. Like it's a bad thing what he said. Whatever man.

Our genes are shaped by the short term gain of natural selection. Our behaviours are largely (not entirely) shaped by our genes. As such it always feels easier to do what seems right or enough for now, without regard for long term consequences.

Bingo.
Any species if given the proper tools and ability would act exactly the same way and take whatever they could get in order to procreate and survive to the greatest extent possible.
The only reason other species don't is because of natural barriers, inability to use tools, and the natural defense of their pray. When a specific species runs out of food, they die off, or move to another location. With humans, we come up with ways to transport food to different locations, more efficient ways to make food etc. But eventually we will hit a natural barrier, and when that happens our fate will be the same as any other species. Either limited survival of the species, or complete extinction. It's inevitable, but there will always be something else to take our place at the top of the food chain.
Unless of course a meteor wipes us out first
Edit: On the original topic though, prince charles simply has too much in-breeding in his blood to make any coherent or useful statements.

And btw,, Islam in principle DOES ask its followers to be environmentally friendly,, this is in the Quran. He's giving a speech to Muslim scholars, so it's a good point to bring up. Zionist controlled media need to stop picking little things out of people's comments to make anti-Islamic, racist propaganda,, like what they did to Helen Thomas recently. Just because the dude is giving a speech to bunch of Muslims doesn't mean that he supports extremism.

Ya wow! How dare someone mention Islam and not do it in a completely negative light. What a jerk.
Seriously, you don't have to start a new thread about every Islam/Arab related topic you come across on a daily basis. You have no less than 7 threads going on right now on the first page alone. It's like you're the new MarkD with no filter.
