Believe me, I would have loved to get a colour I want, I HATE red, BUT clean car is a clean car, and their getting harder to find, so I guess i'm stuck with it.

Believe me I know it's hard to find a clean E30.... I had to settle with an auto car just like yourself. Thank god I did the 5spd swap.

At least with an auto, you know the owners couldn't drive the #$%# out of the engine and do some major wear.

Can't say I'm horribly concerned, I do still have a motor kicking around the shop somewhere, but 200,000km's on a 20 year car is always nice.

Why not spray the car differently? I know mine will be different then every other E30 when I'm done with the touch up body work. Silver Metallic is going to just blind everyone.

It's a lot of work to properly change a car's colour. The real way to do it, is take it down to a shell.

True, mines already gray so I'll be adding more of a silver so it's not a huge difference when you open the doors and hood ect.

You could get poly sheets and just tape off the door jams ect, it's a lot of work but if you want the rockers to look the same and such, the extra few hours of taping and cover the interior will look awesome. There's just so many red E30's lol.

I have taken a car down to near nothing for paint before, my old e30, it wasn't for a colour change, I just didnt want paint flaking up later on from masking it off at the windows and what not.

Paint may happen down the road, but for now I'll be content with being to drive an e30 daily again.
