E30 vs. Grand Prix GT

Last night I was kinda bored so i went out for a drive around 9:30....after about an hour i seen this red grand prix gt kinda driving like a formula 1 driver, so i caught up to him and then waited till the next light...after getting a light i looked at him and he smiled at me, i dont know why but anyways, as soon as we seen the light change to green we killed it...but there was one problem, the lane i was in ended several meters ahead...so i jhad to give it all i had and i beat him by a car length and then smiled at him at the next light just like he did to me before...pretty funny to me cause he got his ass handed to him....it was a 2000 Grand Prix GT 4 door...they got 200hp according to a few sites i been to...

sorry but i'm 99% sure he did not race u all the way, he probably just let u infront of him and that's it.

no no because the road ended after i got in...i was in before it ended and my car was ahead of his even before i had to swtich lanes...

It was Auto, all new grand prix's are. I dunno about the older ones, but the new ones are all auto. Stilll, with auto, he woulda spanked ya

Uhh Lenon I dunno what your smoking, maybe a grand prix would jack it if it was a 325E, but a 325i would murder a grand prix off the line.

Especially if this wasnt the supercharged one. I lined up against my buddies super charged one (240 horse) and I destroyed it without a doubt off the line.

But when we went at it rolling , I was in 4th and downed it into 3rd and he smoked me in my 325is. too bad I wasnt in my M3

Grand Prix's are far from "Grand prix" they are slow, plastic boats. E30 325's will eat em for breakfast.

Oh yeah? My bad then, I didn't know there was a huge difference between the "e" and the "i" models as far as power, mine had 121 hp, how much do the "i" have? And yeah, your right, the grand prix's ate me up.

NO CHANCE, i've got my ass HANDED to me against a GTP although it had 240HP and the regualr GT's have 200 it still woulda SMOKED YOU!!!

Lenon a stock 325i has 168 horse

My 325is had a chip andcat back exhaust, so maybe around 175 hp. Remember the Grand Prix weighs aroung 3500 pounds.

Soldomatic, the E36 325i is not much faster than the E30 325i. Did you race this guy off the line or rolling?

Well first off you need torque to get good 0-60 times not horsepower. The 325e has 170lbs/feet and the Gran Prix GT has 225lbs/feet. If you caught the guy sleeping off the line and it wasn't a long "race" then there is a possibility of beeting him.

my car is standard and since my dad is a mechanic he twekaed the car ever since we had it...it's faster then a stock e3o even though it still kinda is....anyways, his was auto because all the new ones come auto, his car is HUGE and they aren't that fast just like Slowered318 said...i beat him off the start and he was catching up but as i put it in 4th i kept lead then switched lanes....it is possible for E30's to beat 200 hp cars believe me!

I smoked a 95 eagle talon turbo in my 325is, not once, not twice but on 5 different occasions! Those have 210 hp.

i think its possible, ive beat an oldsmobile intrigue light to light, its got the same 200hp 3.8. a guy i work with blew the doors off me in his GTP, pretty fast cars they run 14.5 stock 1/4 mile (he ran it, not blowing smoke)
