Proper image resizing?

Hi, is there a proper way to resize an image??

I just open in paint and resize there threw the resize/skew option.

It seems like my pictures get a little messed up when I do this. >.<

You have to resize by the same factor in both x and y directions or the image will be distorted. You can use a free program called Irfanview to resize pics.

I don't re-size any more because I use flickr.com to share photo's, and I can select a size. If your looking to re-size to a smaller size, you can use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. All you do is right click on the image you want to re-size, and select "edit". Simple, no downloading.

I don't know when this feature was included in the MS office suite, but I'm pretty sure it was pre office 2003. You can download the tool seperately. Just google "Image resizer". There is a download from the microsoft site.
