Wow! I didn't expect the E60 to walk on the X//M that badly.

That doesn't make sense. the extra 100+lbs of torque of the MX5 should more than make up for the extra weight and aerodynamics. Is it possible that may have been a 4.6L X5 and not a MX5?

^ plus gearing and aerodynamics. Wind plays a huge roll over 180kph, you need to increase hp exponentially in order to overcome the amount of air going underneath the vehicle, as well as dragging behind the tailgate section. In addition the huge swept area at the front of the two cars is drastic. ^^
