Don't forget to multiply that indicated 6.4l by 19/14 to account for the injectors.

The ultimate test will be when I fill her up and drive to Ottawa. Then we'll see what is going on for sure. My old 'e' car used to get about 600km per 55L.

I'll fill her up and drive till the red warning light comes on, I'll use the gps for distance traveled as the car is off by about 10km/h too fast.

I'm really busy but now I have my anti-copy board under development, so I plan to go ahead with this. It will be better than anything from BC, except maybe that BC bud.

Changed my diff to 2.93 My rpms have dropped 1000, it does 2200 at 110kph, the economy reading on the OBC stabilizes around 4.2l/100k

So with Marks little math equation (even if the injector would actually be flowing at an increased rate.) 4.2l x 19/14 = 5.7l/100.

I notice the car has almost 0 balls at that speed, so dropping to 4th is a must when passing. The car pretty much is slower down in 1st. But if I hold it in gear longer, I'm already speeding around town in 2nd gear and I need to shift less.

I'm happy with it. When I drive 2200km this weekend I'll be spending less on gas for sure. I'll record how far I can go on a tank the old fashioned way, and keep distance with the gps. I'll report here what the results are.

4.2L/100km (57MPG)?? That would be amazing if it was correct...even then...5.7L/1100km (41MPG)....shit that's good lol!
I have a 3.73 in my car and although I haven't done any long trips to really see what kind of mileage I can get, right now I'm averageing around 9 to 9.5 L/100km commuting from Guelph to Mississauga every day (I'm tracking based on the gas I put in and the distance I drive as I don't have an OBC anymore) and I'd say about 30-40% of the time I'm sitting in slow moving traffic. That makes me feel as though I should be able to get between 7-8 L//100km on a long, unobstructed trip. There's only one way to find out though

I'd be curious to know what the AFR is when cruising, you can only get that sort of mileage if you are running around 16:1 and then you you have to hang those rubber nuts from the back of the bumper.

16:1? No problem at cruise. You just need to ensure you have some kind of acceleration enrichment so she doesn't go crack when you punch the throttle.

However, even then, an E30 just isn't suited to that kind of mileage. Its inefficient motor means high fuel consumption in city driving, and poor aerodynamics means the same thing on the highway. Plus they all seem to have high rolling resistance (old bearings?).

Plus, its shaped like a shoebox.

Hey don't laugh! Every second truck in Port Perry has a set of those!
