I love build up thread, keep up the good work

I will start mine this weekend.

I have questions:

I don't know about BMW club racing regulations regarding roll cage but are they similar to CASC-OR/ASN?

Why you didn't attach the roll cage to the rear shock tower? Not bashing, just curious.

CASC pretty much allows anything. All they care about is plate sizing and specs like that.

As for the rear strut towers, I didn't tie them in there since its a pretty weak area on the E36. I did a lot of research on it and apparently the rear bulkhead more structural anyway.

I'm very impressed with how quickly the shop did the cage myself haha. I wasn't expecting it back for two weeks.

Today (Saturday) I'll probably head to the shop to clean and paint the entire inside of the car. I also need to hack the dash up a little bit to mount it..

I took the car for a boot tonight. Scary quick.

I also got a 5 Panel Wink mirror and I'll see if I can get that in.

CASC does pretty much allow anything, when it comes to powertrain, aero, etc... but, not when it comes to safety. Driver's side X MUST have a gusset. I believe that BMW requires the same thing.

And shock towers can and should be reinforced. Tying a cage into them, makes it that much better. But, that is up to you.
Good luck with the rest, looking good!

There is aftermarket and oem windshield weatherstripping. I'm too lazy to tell the difference right now lol/

Any yeah it got all dirty on the trailer anyway. Going to clean it all up today

Well it's 5am and I just got home from hauling ass on the car lol. Lost track of time slightly...

I got a lot done tonight though. The entire interior is painted, along with the cage. All the overspray is cleaned up so it's nice in there.

Had to hack the dashboard up a bit to fit it back in. What a pain!

No

Almost all the way. I'll have to screw it into the dash with some new holes. But atleast it goes in far enough that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Got my Wink 5 Panel mirror in. Screwed right into the holes for the sun visors. Nice addition since you can see both blind spots.

I also went to town with some detailing. Since there was so much overspray all over the outside of the car from painting the interior, I decided to claybar the entire car. Then followed that with some wax just to keep dirt from sticking to the paint.

Crappy cell pics don't do justice.

Overspray what?
