My new car

Hello everyone!

Been lurking for the last 6 months, figured I would finally register and introduce myself. Hopefully this is the right spot for an introduction thread.

Last fall I traded in my 2004 G35 Coupe and bought my "dream" car. I spent all last year looking for the perfect car to come around with low mileage. Finally got a 2006 e46 M3 6spd with competition package in interlagos blue on black leather.

I only got to drive it for a bit last year before putting it away for winter storage. I've been very happy to get it back out on the road this spring. Already put a ton of mileage on it this spring and looking forward to putting a lot more on it over the summer. Also maybe doing a bmw club driver training event and joining some of the local cruises.

Anyways, here an obligatory picture of my car just after I got it back from the dealership:

It's much better all around than the g35, my g35 wasn't so great with the reliabiability. Only thing I miss about the g35 is the stock exhaust sound. The m3 is much better handling, braking and fit and finish. Tbh the g35 is a decent car, but a 50k car doesn't compare to an 80k car.

I think I get that as well with G35. iT'S a nice just to rip and listen to their exhaust system.

^^^ I think the exact opposite, the exhaust note on the G35's is horrible....

that said, very nice car OP! Probably my favorite of the E46's... I wouldn't feel the need change a thing on it that's how good it is.

except to lower it with a set of coil overs.

nice grab. congrats. once you hear the motor over 4000rpm, you'll like the sound of the motor more than the g35.

Yup, although I wouldn't be running to the store to buy a set as the OE suspension is very good out of the box, you're right I personally would get a set of nice coils to give it the stance I like.

Not bad for a Japanese car.
