Just curious. Why would you want to disable your daytime running lights?
They're there for safety, and it might even be illegal to disable them.
My car is too old to have DRL's but I try to remember to always put my lights on, day or night.
But it's your car, do what you want.

Same, I have orion v2's and it replaces the daytime running lights.

Plus in U.S. they don't have them so im sure "safety" wise we would be fine.

by law in canada, you need to have day time running lights. certain states have it also i believe and other states require you to turn on your lights if its cloudy or rainy.

it is a safety reason to have them.

i had to send my angel eyes (they burned) so i've been out of drl for a couple months now. haven't been hassled at all.

Yes i know you need to have them but i can replace them with the angel eyes (they are much brighter than the daytimes anyways)...

It is technically "safety reason" but like i said many countries don't even have that, so it really is not a big deal. I can perfectly see cars during a normal day without their daytime running lights.

I think if you Delete you DRL's, and run with either AE's you should be fine. Also I don't see a problem in running with your low beams, if you don't have AE's, and delete your DRL's.

only issue is dealerships won't do it as they can get in trouble.
find any shop that has a gt1 unit and they'll do it for you. probably charge you around $40

Just to clarify...

Importers like the car manufacturers (or private if you're importing a car from the States) need to have the DRL's as per Transport Canada.

Once the vehicle is registered to an owner, then it falls under a different jurisdiction. So, if the vehicle is registered in Ontario, then Ontario rules take effect.
The Ontario HTA does NOT require DRL's.
I don't have the time to spell out for you chapter-and-verse of the HTA that speaks about "Equipment", but it is there where it speaks about lamps, and there is absolutely nothing that says you must have the DRL's.
Neither does the HTA reference Trasport Canada regulations.

Not sure about other provinces, though.

They're not there for safety. They're there for morons who don't know how to turn on their ****ing lights at night.
