I'm pretty sure only moderators can delete threads. You can delete a post within a thread after you write it, but deleting threads themselves needs special permissions.

You can only delete your replies; you can't delete a thread. Only Mods and Admins are able to delete threads. Ask for help from a Mod or Admin.
