Hey guys, I dont really post here much anymore but im dropping a line here for any vw fans.
Mazdees is building and developing a brandnew 2010 GTI 2.0T for the Castrol Touring series. Im documenting the build and race season, let me know if you have any questions
Nice. Building a 97 M3 myself right now. Unfortunately wont be able to compete in CCTCC in the future.
So I decided on IP
You know there is only one BMW club race at the local track(mosport) each year right? Don't limit yourself to that series, or feel obligated to keep the car legal for some class... CASC regionals are open for mods, makes everything much easier as it's bracketed by time. Not to mention a lot more opportunities for races per year

I had no idea! Slightly difficult to get any good information on club racing.
But yeah I was looking into getting into CASC first. Solo1 and get into racing from there.
Yep it will be an ST class car. We are definetly going to miss the first race. Obrien did the cage and it came out perfect as usual.
Doogee, don't feel bad about not competing in cctcc, alot of ppl are not happy with how the series has been run the last couple years. I personally would rather compete in regionals than cctcc.
The 1hr gt sprints would be a great series for an e36 m3.

So I heard through the grapevine today that the CCTCC is trying to go nation-wide? That true Mike? ****, that's a tall order from a series that is relatively new to the scene (not to mention some ruling fiascos along the way?). I don't think it is that strong of a series yet, but then again, I'm just an avid bystander... Thoughts?

Yeah I heard the same thing, im pretty sure its all speculation at this point. I personally dont think the series is ready for it but I wouldnt be surprised if it did happen in the next 2 years or so. If it does go through, it would be a good outlet for the teams that dont want to spend the big $ to run GrandAm.
Either way, I dislike the series. Too many teams have been ****ed over and over again. Even though I wasnt impacted by this directly as im just a crew member.. it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

You know, if CCTCC goes nationwide, it wouldn't be that much cheaper than Grand-Am.

I would disagree, there is no way CCTCC can generate the same amount of fans per race both at the track AND by media. The fan base just isnt there.
Another reason why I think CCTCC cant be as successful is the financial payouts. CCTCC cant afford to pay out like GrandAm EVEN if they get nationwide.
Hey I might be dead wrong about this, its all speculation at this point.
