E30 325, 1987, No E-test required, $1000
Well, I bit the bullet and bought a TDI yesterday. I hope it's reliable.
For sale is my previous commuter: 1987 E30 325, 5-speed.
The good:
It's NEVER let me down.
98k mile 325i engine out of the Texas car, timing belt and idler done ~8000 kms ago. Clutch done 8000kms ago.
Exhaust out of the same. One winter on the exhaust.
It runs awesome, and sound great. I've been averaging 28mpg on the commute. ("E" rear end...it loves the highway)
E36 sport seats (cloth)
Pics to come.
The bad: rust in the wheel wells. The rest of the car is relatively solid, but the wheel wells (inner) are bad. Wiper motor needs replacing.
Heater/blower motor needs replacing.
Records since I bought it:

Shrug. I used what I had from the donor car.
Want to buy it?

Honestly, I'd be a lot more tempted if the coolant reservoir wasn't just thrown in. It's easy to swap water pumps and thermostat housings and wiring harness to maintain the 1986 cooling plumbing. Or if you're more adventurous, at least make a bracket to properly mount the reservoir.
Good luck with the sale!

Then by all means, make an offer. I simply don't have the time (I do have the parts). I'm certainly not trying to hide anything.
If that's a deal breaker, then so be it...it's a $1k obo car.

Sorry, still available. My wife is due to have a baby any day now, so I haven't been on here much.
If anyone is serious, feel free to call on my cell: 905-746-3088.
No calls on Sunday please.

Car is still available....
To the few people offering $500 sight unseen: sorry, at that price I'll keep it and use the parts on my other E30's.
