interior lights and door locks on e30

Could anyone tell me why my interior lights aren't working with the door open and coincidentally either are my door locks? I checked all my fuses and none seem burnt. any idea? anyone ever have happen on their e30 before?

I think I've had 14 bmw's in 4 years.
2 IX's -sold and parts
2 325i 4 dr - sold
4 318is all white - sold and parts
1 87 325is red - parts
1 89 325i vert grey - parts
1 90 325is white - keepin
1 87 325i vert -red - keepin
latest addition 1 88-325is red - parts
latest addition 1 89-325i vert - white -fixin/sold
latest addition 1 92-318i vert - blue - parts
latest addition 1 87 325is blk - parts.

latest addition as of 2013-Gold 87-325is auto! it's a keeper!

Could be the contacts on the door switch.

Fuse #27 powers interior lights, central locking, radio/antenna and OBC. I'd look there first and try a different fuse, regardless of whether it looks burnt or not.

Thank you both, I suspect it is the door switch as I had problems with it over winter and already once changed it. My radio works, power antenna and OBC as well. update: I found #27 to be suspect. it looked good but upon closer inspection was partially burned. changed fuse-fix problem. many thanks for your input once again.

A fuse can't be partially burnt, it either conducts or it doesn't. FYI, the radio and OBC get power from 3 fuses listed in the Bentley, but the primary power for them isn't on 27. (I know, its stupid and confusing.)

You should examine why you blew a fuse before it blows again.

**** it... if we all examined why our fuses blew every time, we'd never actually get anything done in real life. Ziplock bag full of fuses in the glove box FTW.
