Cool Rant: The BMW community

To all my maxbimmer family

over the past little while, reading the maxbimmer fourms and driving around I've noticed something. As time goes by we (bimmer owners) are becoming more and more like the Honda generation.
Meaning we are all starting to hate, envy, or gloat to other BMW owners.
What ever happened to family, appreiciating another one's ride because it shares those three letters BMW.

I understand it to a certen degree because let's face it, it's the "driving machene" but that should be kept on a track.
BMW's are like the perfect women a lady in the streets and a raging bitch at the track.

We should all help one another (I know there are a select few that do it here).
We are drifting apart as a community and we need to bring that back. Where we see another on the road and give them the head nod or even a quick flash of the high beams in admiration of his/her ride.

At one point in time of my life I owned a miata.
I know it's a chicks car but like a chick it was a ton of fun.
When ever I saw another on the road they would wave, flash there high beams, or even honk to show their commitment to the car.

Where did that go for us?
When I got my car I remember other BMW folk telling me they loved the fact that it was so low or super clean.
Whose to blame for this seperation?
We are

another thing
maxbimmer.com
a great place for bmw's
more or less frendly people and a whole lot of information
I learned a lot here and even made a few friends.
Just one problem that I find is the maxbimmer people are biased.
I don't mean to make fun or point fingers.
But when it comes to one member voicing a bad experence with a dealer or shop with the intent of informing there BMW family all is ok except when one shop is mentioned
bimmersport
I'm not blaming them
I know they are a large sponsour of this site and maxbimmer does need money to keep us together,
But why are they protected
they put there hard earned money into this site because of us.
As in who does maxbimmer rellay have there intrest in
the one who gives the money or the reason the money is here.

if users want to talk about there experence good or bad PUBLICLY with a chance for the accused to discuess why, shouldn't we let that happen?
I mean this community is only growing with the recent fall in BMW prices.
Shouldn't we help them as a community and let them make an educated choice on where to bring there car.
And I know there are some theads with the good and some bad but they are hidden in the dark corners of this site.
I'm not trying to start a war between shops or dealers.
I just want to help educate the new users into becoming a part of our family.
Good or bad we shoud voice our experences NOT our OPINIONS of one place or another.
As the saying goes "are you gonna take the butchers word for it or are you gonna stick your head up a cows ass"

I want the BMW community to be as strong as ever.
When we go on a cruze I want to fill entire plazas with bmw's
and I want us to all be a family

doesn't matter where your from
doesn't matter your background
doesn't matter the model
all that matters is that iTs a BMW!
Let the spring/summer begin
hope to see you all

when it comes down to

Usually threads with negative feedback always turns into bashing, so that is why they are cleaned up and closed, not to protect 'Platinum Sponsors'. There is a way to be professional and then there is just trolling and bashing.

Also keep in mind that alot of fake accounts are created to start alot of these threads. Just note that your IP is tracked and i'm sure the mods know who you are.

If you have a good experience go ahead and post it, just because someone didn't answer the phone the way you wanted doesn't mean you have to start a bashing thread, instead you can direct positive attention to the place that got your business.

To the thread starter, we encourage you to leave feedback for the "alternate advertiser" in their section if you wish to do so.

PS: There are too many BMWs on the road to be noding and waving at everyone....usually that only happens to more exclusive clubs, like e30 owners as less and less of them are on the road. There are much less Miata's around that is why you noticed it when you had one.

But stating a bad experence is being professional
and the only threads that are cleaned and closed are the sponsers
people bash the dealer all day and no one says a word

hence why I said voice your experences not your opinion
let people discuess publicly the bad and good experences
and let the merit of the shop previal

you know what, your right! ive noticed it too. But it depends on your model bmw. If your an e30 driver your almost guerenteed a honk or thumbs up. E36 is so so some do some raise their noses like their the shit. e46 very rare to find someone who will acknowledge a fellow bmw driver, e9X....goodluck!

^ whocares about the dealers, they have money. You can bash them all day and they'll be fine. If you really care about your community, you would want to preserve the small businesses like our 'platinum' sponsors. They're the ones who will give you better deals; they're the ones who have famillies to support.

edit: my response was directed to gemini not you spoony

This is horseshit! You think dealers and the many employees they have don't have families to support??
EVERY business should stand on it's own merit. I pride myself in delivering top notch service. If someone isn't happy with my service, tell me, I will try to rectify it for you. If you're thrilled with my service, tell your friends.
And treat every business like that. I do.

Before you get all worked up (which you already have), I'll explain my point. As a community (Maxbimmer) if a dealer is bashed, that dealer is not as badly affected as if one of our sponsors were bashed. The general populus of bmw drivers have no clue what maxbimmer is, so they wont see these posts and make a decision accordingly. Most people on the forum here do not even service at the dealer, they go to RMP, Bimmersport, Cross ave. or wherever - NOT the dealer. If something bad is posted about any of these sponsors, they WILL be affected. The dealer has a much larger sample set of customers, backed by the BMW name; not just regular people trying to make a living. I will support Bimmersport, RMP or any sponsor before I support the dealer; they have enough customers IMO. Get my point? So don't get mad. lol

and if you really care about your community, then wouldn't you want to let people know about a shady shop? you still want to preserve that small business so they can keep ripping people off? so the next guy that wants to have his car serviced and turns to Max and reads only good things?

and what does having families to support have to do with better deals? Maranello Mike has a family to support so thats why hes giving us good deals?

LOL ok
