snowboard roof rack please!

I used to use that style of carrier. It was effective, but my board was always covered in road grime.

I now use a roof top luggage carrier that I find much more useful. I can fit 4 boards along with all the boots and misc wet gear when the day is done and have a pile more interior space with less sweaty boot smell.

just my $0.02

those clamp style ones do however, take up much less space in the garage when they are not on the car.

Would you recommend the one in my link? And where would u recommend to buy the luggage carrier if i choose to? i just think its a lil uglier, but hey ur right its cleaner. Please advise.

The carrier in your link looks fine. However, I think it is inexpensive because it doesn't have the actual roof racks that attach to the roof of your car. This just clamps onto your existing racks (if you have them). Which ever style of carrier you choose, you'll need the racks to attach the carrier to.

I think my roof top carrier came from a sears sale, but crappy tire is a good place to look too. Just make sure you measure your board (or the largerst board of the ppl you ride with) a lot of the roof top carriers are too short for snowboards.

I used to just tie my board the the racks, but it is a pain. Your cheapest option would be a clamp similar to the link you initially posted.

Maybe try searching Kijiji.ca for used racks/luggage carriers.
