E30 soft top

Hi everyone!

So I've been on a mission looking to replace my black soft top on my E30 cab. The frame is perfectly fine... but the actual rag top is not looking too good.

I've come up with a few answers...

1) pay BMW dealer $10,000 for a brand new one = negative!
2) buy the rag top without the frame from Bavarian (I can still use my current one)
3) Keep searching... but from the looks of it... it ain't happening anytime soon.

The likely answer would be to buy it from bavarian... however... the installation is going to be a problem! :/

I called a shop that specializes in soft tops in Toronto but they want to charge me $2,000 to do it!
Has anyone here actually put one together?
I'm hoping it's not that difficult I can get my dad to do it! lol!

Please help!
Thanks!!!!

I think I'm going to try and do it myself eventually... sounds challenging but not impossible.

Also I think most aftermarket tops will come with installation instructions.

What do you mean by warm day? what would be the difficulty in it overall.replacing it or stretching it to fit ?

i wouldn't mind a group buy on this

that's because he most likely bought a vinyl top and cheeped out. A "proper" canvas top sells for min 500.00 and there is no need for perfect weather to work with canvas. Also last 10 fold longer.

Just remember....you get what you pay for...cheap doesn't always = quality. In most cases it won't and you may run into wear/tear within 1 or 2 years due to drastic temperature change.
