The only car that doesn't go sideways, and thats the one you want to drive? For some reason I don't think Dan's Mini will suite you driving style! I know what you mean though

Thanks again to John. I can't imagine anyone doing a finer job at organizing this event. Congrats to Rudy on a great season, and even with that open diff, you did great Jon!

Awesome! Thanks John!

Wait, so let me get this straight, if Randy didn't drive Shanes car in the PM, Scott would have won in the PM even and won the championship?

That sucks.

Next year, the miata shall prevail!

Actually, I just got it out yesterday. It slid up my rear floor vent. Waaay up there. I only saw it when used my little keychain camera to look into the slot with a flashlight.

You can see it way back there (at least 10"), almost completely around the bend.
I tried racing backwards and slamming on the brakes but that wouldn't get it out. I had to get a mirror, flashlight, and a little gripper tool to reach it.

Thanks to those of you who had a look through your cars for me.

Too bad, would have been a good show. Decent price IMO for a kart to mess around with...

WOW! I'm so glad you found it for those pictures of you newborn. Good show. What made you think to take a look there after all of this time?

Some years our November autocross involved snow. I remember back in '05 there was about 6" of snow and we did a simple slalom... it was hilarious! I'm sure if we get enough interest, it could be possible... but we need confirmed competitors as the lot rental is pricey.

With last years incidents on dry courses I'm not sure if they could insurance for the event.

The other problem is everyone says they are gonna show and half don't, also would be hard to get them not to plow the lot, then cost of having to get it done.

We tried last year and its a logistic costly nightmare, I don't think it will happen.

^^Agreed^^

In regards to winter autocrossing, I'm so willing to put something on but as Rich already pointed out, Finding a lot is one thing, finding one that won't be plowed is a whole different kettle of fish. Plus, we'd need to run it immediately after a snowfall, which means one, maybe two days warning. Many won't be able to respond with such short notice. If someone can find me a venue, I'll do the rest.

Yea, a parking lot would be difficult. These guys look like they're on a flooded parking lot or frozen pond. We need to find a farmer with a large, shallow pond for winter HPDE. There wouldn't be any insurance issues since the only thing to wreck would be your own car into a snowbank.
Hmmm... Does Mosport get used in the winter? I would think that their lots/skidpad wouldn't get plowed.

RWDs are just as fun in the snow; sure they don't have the great traction off the line and pulling you out of a corner that AWD can do, but it feels more of a challenge with more modulation required.

I usually pendulum swing my car when I want to get it sideways before the turn starts. It's also awesome using this method when you want to do a quick 180 instead of an actual u-turn

I know Cayuga is open up in the winter for "snow" track days. A friend of mine attended one about two weeks ago.
