We all know you don't have time to run 2+ events per month, and there is no money to fund another trailer+gear. You're doing a bang up job, and the locale at the powerade center is going to make things even better, but for some people its not enough

Sheesh!
I didn't mean it like that (to solicate/promote other events), just sayin that there are other events that people can go to if they need more cowbel... autox and this way you (and the club) are not always being hounded to do more. I personally have never been to another auto-x, but I know a couple racers who run in them and its something I will be trying next year.

I was looking into joining multiple clubs. I don't know where the Trillium Miata club holds their Auto x, it's not really on their site from what I can see.

Starspec's are very expensive. I was looking at wheels with star specs and it was like $1250 shipped on tire rack.

Edit, just looked at a set os 15x7 O.Z Ultralegerras with star spec, mounted, balanced, shipped and hardware for 1600.

I'm actually dissapointed in the talk of other autocrosses and not enough events after seeing all the hard work John, myself and others have put in over the last year to grow this series and make it enjoyable and fun for everyone.
John has been relentless to keep everyone happy and has found the wickedest venue and put in countless hours organizing this out of his own time.
To start talking this way less then two weeks from the biggest sickest day of racing yet is bullshit. Count our blessing someone like John stepped up and took over the autocross.

If I could have afforded it, that's what I would have been rocking all of the time. It is by far and away the stickiest street tire in the dry. If it rains it does ok, but it really shines in the dry. Forget all of those other mods, you may gain a tenth here and there, or feel but not quantifiable time...........Richie touched on it a few posts earlier. The single biggest performance improvement you could endow your car with is the best rubber money can buy. You'll accerlerate quicker because you have more grip, you'll brake better, because you have more grip, and your car will handle infinitely better, guess why? because you'll have more grip!!!! Believe me all, I've been doing this a long time.
+1 I can't say enough about the Star Specs. Very grippy in the dry, but not so much in the wet (hence my very poor result in August. Open diff didn't help either).

+999 I'm sure everyone appreciates the very hard work that John and Rich do to put on some very excellent autoX events. It's a ton of fun and it's great to meat and hang out with some like minded dudes.

I mean't to say aren't. lol

They're like 110 a tire.. Stupid typo..

And Rich, don't get me wrong we all appreciate the work you guys to A LOT! But it's not like we'd be leaving the club to join another. It'd be just going to an extra auto x each month.

That's a really good price actually, I think I paid 900 for my starspecs, and 800 for the rims

the bronzit, but I'll be throwing the rcomps on this time. The blue car is ready, but it won't be worth it to bring it to the last event(s).

Aww, need a hug, Rich?

People are talking about more autocross because they are really enjoying the work John, yourself, and many many others have done, they are hooked, and they want MORE. Concerns about other clubs being discussed in TrilliumBMW's thread notwithstanding, any of our members getting antsy about finding ways to autoX more should be taken as a sign of success for Trillium, not to mention affordable grassroots motorsport in Southern Ontario in general-- regardless of marque or club affiliation.

Appreciation comes in more forms than a pat on the back and a "great job!"
Getcher head on straight.

I'm not looking for pats on the back, I would have no problem with people starting a thread about finding more autocross and track events, but to discuss them in here is not cool, not to mention it was started by someone who has made 1 event this year, and now he's talking about run multiple series?

Yes it's a public fourm and all, and people are free to do as they wish, I'm just happy that know that John has secured the poweraide center lot for all of next season, and being the only club I know of to run 8 events in southern Ontario at a prime location it will be the series to compete in....
