Need help from emissions experts - High NOx reading
Hi all, just found out about this forum for (mostly) Canadians. Having trouble passing emissions in Ontario. I already posted about it over m3forum.net, so instead of reposting, here's the link:
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=314456
Anyone know where I can get a replacement cat for a 97 e36 m3 in Canada? I've checked partsource.ca, autopartsway.ca, autopartsonlinecanada.com, autopartscanada.ca, autopartsway.ca and none of them have one. US sites list them but shipping is going to kill me. Anyone had a universal welded in place instead? Maybe that would be cheaper?
Any help would be appreciated.

Get in touch with some of the forum sponsors. If you are from Toronto, most of them are very close by and will most likely have anything you are looking for. Euroguy, Eurostyle, SimplyCars. They will hook you up.
Welcome to the community! Although you technically aren't in it yet since you can't legally drive the car in Canada. lol

that or get a cheap 70 dollar part source replacement one, fab up a temp setup, pass your test and then pull it out and put it straight through and sell the cat...
in all seriousness id try the sponsors like was suggested, i think euroguy has a bunch kickin around, message him. Try Fil and simply cars as well

Methanol
Look into running a half a tank of pure methanol (gas light on empty before filling up with methanol) for your e-test. Legal, Cleans your fuel injection system at the same time. Just depends if you like to play dirty sometimes or not.

Methanol. And its commercially available. Do a little bit of research on it.

what you want is methyl hydrate, not methanol.
