side skirts

This might sounds like a dumb question but I want to do it right the first time and not screw anything up. I removed my sideskirts to check if any dirt buildup was there and prevent rust since it is a common problem on E36's. Now, I need to install them but before I do whats the easiest way? Should I attach the clips to the sideskirt and then press them into the grommets or attach the skirt to the clips while they are on the rockers?

That is what I would do.

I actually put them back on and it was easy, I didn't break any clips either. I pressed all the clips into the grommets then just attached the side skirt one clip at a time.
