Exclamation Style 5s on e36 sedan

I just bought styles 5s with tires.

Rim size is 17x8
tires size is 235/45/17

will these fit?

The rims will fit, but tires sound a bit too wide/tall....but it all comes down to your drop, like posted before...

Im actually gonna do a tire stretch with 205/40/17. My wheels shop said I should go 205/45/17 because with a stretch they will go down to 40..

Would that be ok?

The diameter won't actually change by much if any, but their advice is still good. 205/40 is WAY too small for an E36, it will not only look strange but have a massive gap all around the tires and have a poor load rating (sidewall bubbles, etc). 205/45 is a better choice.
