CCFL angel eyes
Hey guys, i bought CCFL angel eyes a couple years back, and one day (after maybe 2 years) both sides stopped working...
Is it possible that both ballasts might have went out?
Anyways I'm just curious if anyone could help me out (they haven't been working for a while now)

Rip out that CCFL pile of crap. I've gone through multiple ballasts and had it with my CCFL and I'm switching to the LED based setup. Khoalty (see sponsor specials section) has them on sale at only $65 + S/H!

if they stopped working then they are most likely done. check your connectors also cause when mine went, they melted and started sparking as i was ripping them out.

I've had my CCFL's in for more than 2 years now, still going strong. Yeah they are a bit dim on cold startup, but 30 seconds in, they are bright white.
Check your ballast, and if you are going to change them, might aswell go with led.

If you don't like the look of LED's (I personally hate it) and don't wanna shell out the money for em right now, try changing out the ballasts.
The original ballasts that came with my angel eyes were garbage. I ordered new ones from Khoalty for like $5-$10 and I couldn't be happier. Even in -15 temperatures they only take about ~15 seconds to turn fully bright.
Before doing anything, check your connections and fuses. If everything looks good you make the decision of what you wanna do (change ballasts, order new ccfl angel eyes, or order LED's).

I've read that with CCFL the issue is the slowass priming in cold weather like you guys said. But to compare the lighting effect the CCFL is better as it projects a more uniformed glow than leds. And with leds, you can see gaps between each leds at close range. Tolerable for non-purists. However, there may be better brands out there that could prove this wrong.
Some sites officially recommend CCFLs, while other sites recommend LEDs.
The marketing bs confuses a lot of people. I guess it's all about personal preference.
Having said that Im leaning towards leds. Choice is going for the affordable khoalty or the more expensive Auroras. Auroras have the best fit.
Sorry I realized Im offtopic. But I've already typed this out so...
