my best was a 49.3xx - still waiting on the official times to be posted on MCO. Despite the good times, my car was running weird. Check engine light kept flashing off and on, idle would bounce around, and by the end of the day my fuel guage and cluster lights were acting up too. At first I thought it could be a dead cylinder but seems as though it could be just a vacuum leak.... Bear and I will be scanning the codes tomorrow night!

I hope it's nothing too serious though because i don't want to miss Calabogie next monday!

Sounds like a ground issue to me Shawn. Multiple, simultaneous system failures usually have one common fault. Be aware that if this, or something similar is the case, the CEL codes will likely be completely inaccurate.

Good luck getting it fixed! I have a spare E36 cluster if you guys need to test anything...

You know, the more I think about it, battery terminals secure? Or even the battery tie down?

Big thanks to Barrie for helping me out last night. Unfortuately there were some connection problems on his laptop so we couldn't actually scan the car, but I think we figured out what the problem was: my rear 2 spark plug pockets were full of water (i guess from when I drove through that lake a few events ago). I guess that's what was causing the misfires, and hopefully the other electrical problems (looks like you were right Jason - it was a ground issue) - everything was working fine last night, and the CEL was off. So we dried up the pockets, pulled and cleaned the plugs and did a compression test too. Good news is 5/6 cylinders are in the 190-210 range. Bad news is one of the them is at 150. I guess i'm going to be opening my head this winter, but I think it should be fine to last me 1 lapping day and 2 more autoXs.

Thanks for everyone's input, and again a huge thanks to Barrie!

My car survived another day! Although it kept throwing codes at idle, which would go away when i was on throttle...

Monday i was at Calabogie - started off the day nice and sunny but by lunch it was drizzling and stayed that way till the end. Regardless it was a lot of fun

There were a bunch of bimmers out there - a few E36s, an E46, a couple E30s, a new M3, and an 8 series as well.

Here's my fastest lap of the day - during the first session:

During my 3rd session, myself and a friend in a Mazdaspeed Miata were chasing each other for the whole session - neither could get away:

And in my last session, I put my GPS in the car to get some speed data over the whole track:

let me know what you think!

Thanks Jason!

They put me in the advanced group for the day, and I didn't get passed by anyone (other than the time i let the mazda by when we were chasing each other) - so i must be doing something right lol.

I did feel like the car was understeering a lot more that I would have liked. I think it needs more front camber, because it wasn't doing that on my old tires/alignment. I guess I may be looking into camber plates this winter!
