First Drive of the Season Story...
I pulled out the GT-R from my storage facility last Friday it to burn off all the old gas and filled her up at one of the last remaining Sunocos in the area. I was always told one of the best things to do to a car that has been sitting is add some fuel system cleaner and give 'er hell.
dbWorld4K is following me and we turn a corner and give it with wheelspin like crazy, slam second backfire with a puff of black smoke and the car is pulling ridiculusly hard. The 330i was a speck in the rearview, but then flags me down saying something flew off the car...oh great. I'm skeptical since I heard nothing and all systems were go but I drive back anyway to investigate.
There was definitely something there...

does your car still drive fine, or do you notice something wrong now while driving since you didn't notice anything @ 1st... definitly that part looks crucial somewhere on your car...

It was from his PREVIOUS turbo setup! That shit would have smashed my windshield/hood/paint! Good thing I waited for you to take the corner before following... haha!

Well heres the deal...I already upgraded! Last August! It's the old ceramic wheel. Where the F it was hiding I don't know?! Turbos are new, manifolds are new, dump pipes are new and the exhaust was all off.
But according to Anuk this thing shot out like a cannon ending up 100+ feet from where it exited.
I thought it ended up on the back straight at Mosport

That's nuts. I was a little confused when you said the car was pulling great yet that piece flew out!
Good thing the 3 was far enough back to avoid the shrapnel!

Must be running some pretty "free flow" exhaust and cats for that to happen!

lol... so basically you had a nice restriction in your exhaust system, which is now gone? That's about a "free" of an upgrade as you get this year, enjoy it!

Holy shit, well that's better news. Yeah Dave I remember when you thought it was on Mosport somewhere, that's hilarious.

hehe yep I was thinking the same thing, I'm not sure if I'm imaging it but feels like a bit more down-low response and less lag.
The wheel left the housing almost 8 months ago and I wasn't pissed, this turbo could be over 20 years old. Luckily a clean, clean break almost like with a hacksaw because the alternative is the ceramic wheel exploding and sending tiny shrapnel back into the head and cylinders = total disaster.
