CF sunroof panel

So I was wondering if there was intrest from my fellow E30 owners for a function CF sunroof panel?

They will of course be canadian made, high quality, not hand laid, but injected, and best of all not only weigh less but never rust!!!

Let me know who would be interested and what you think a reasonable price would be.

Also if there is enough intrest I can inquire about other body parts as well.

I would be interested for sure, but only if it had attachment points for the factory sliders, etc, so it will look like factory from the inside. If that's the case, I'd totally rock one of these. And I'l put my rust free one up for sale lol.

As we chatted before Richie, I am definitely in for one... assuming it will be 100% like stock. Attaching the roofliner I think will be the biggest problem, followed by the outer seal.

To make a part like this takes hours per piece, with cost of CF, and level of quality expected, my guess is price tag will be higher then most E30 owners baught the car for! lol

it wont be that expensive... if it was hand lay then yeah. but for a part like this all you need is a mold then they would bag form it to the mold then trim and polish or add coat of resin and polish.

depending on the cost... i'll get one too

walk off the street price for carbin fibre is under $60 a square yard. under $40 a yard when you buy a large roll, not as expensive as people think. these will be injected molded carbin fiber peices, which allows more strength with less material, thus keeping cost down.

What I need to know is who is interested in one and what they feel would be a reasonable price. As a used metal panel is $100 to $200 and a new one is around $400 in metal, I think $500 to $600 is reasonable for this peice. exspecially when you'll never have to replace it again.
