You already have an E39, why not buy something different?
A Mercedes perhaps?

I agree with Jason..leave now!

But seriously, I would love to find a good C32 AMG. They are hard to come by. The ones on the Market now are either overpriced IMHO or are in realy bad shape.

lol.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a Mercedes.

Build quality is great, interior is not crap like most BMWs (sagging glove boxes, peeling door panels, dead pixles etc) and they are not as problematic as most Audis or even some BMWs.

I have heard horror stories about Mercedes of late. C&D has a "what can you get for $XX,000?" article, and the guy whose Mercedes they profiled had spent the purchase price again on parts, repairs and maintenance. And the M-Class is a renowned lemon, although as an SUV it is automatically inferior on principle.

The M (SUV) Mercedes are crap. That's why they sell cheap.

Not sure about the new models, but pre-2006 Mercedes are decent cars. I believe the OP is looking for cars in that era.

BMWs also do have their own share of horror stories.

I've never heard of this before...what BMW's have sagging glove boxes and peeling door panels?

I've found BMW interiors to be top notch, at least from all the ones I've driven (If taken care of). I've heard e36's are questionable, but surely they can't be that bad.?

My father in law has a '92 318i that hasn't been taken care off at all, and the interior still looks great.

E36 interiors have not held up well. Mine wasn't too bad but my buddies had peeling headliners, peeling door panels, weird fluctuations on the dash. Not good at all...

I looked at a 2006 325I at one point, and with only 55K, and the finish on the armrests and some of the buttons had already worn off. I was not impressed. Apparently the "soft touch" paints they are now using don't last very well.

Yep, lots of E36 interiors are in rough shape. Thankfully previous owner took great care of it and mine still looks great. *knock on wood*

Do a quick google search "E36 glovebox" you will see lots of "sag". Even google has the suggestion " E36 sagging globe box".

Headliners, door panel/door panels cards can peel/sag, and other small issues.
I'm sure E39 interiors are better but from what I've seen the seats seem to look worn out compared to their age.

But I still love BMWs.
