Civet coffee: The world's most expensive coffee!

"Kopi luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world, selling for between US $100 and $600 per pound. It is sold by weight mainly in Japan and the United States and served in Southeast Asian coffeehouses by the cup. Sources vary widely as to annual worldwide production."

source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak

A family member of mine has the farm in Sumatra, Indonesia. I am thinking of importing it to Canada and USA. Would you try/buy it?

PS: Wrong section. Please move it to off-topic. Thanks in advance.

Does it not sound nasty? Is it just me? It's cultivated from weasel or civit shit.

Incidentally, civets were linked to beginnings of SARS.

Had a tour guide in Vietnam try to convince us that it was good stuff lol

I am going to import two pounds of the green bean. Will keep you guys updated if there is any free trial lol.

Sample is not possible considering the price of the bean itself is relatively high, but if you really are interested, I can spare a bit for you to try. I'll let you know when it arrives.

Total annual production is less than 1000 lbs and you are importing 2 lbs?
I have no interest in trying it out and wouldn't buy it.

But if you find some camel dung hash, I'm sure some Max Members will by that.
