HELP: Anyone can give a hand with rotor replace?
My rotors on e30 (1989 325i) are not in the best shape right now, so its time to replace.
I don't want to break the bank $$$ and feel a bit ripped off by shops.
I have the parts 4 new rotors and 8 break pads. I have the tools. I am willing to do the work myself (unscrewing, screwing back ...cleaning, painting) I just need a little guidance from someone who has done it before. Maybe replace one rotor and I'l be good after that.
beer and pizza on me , willing to travel within GTA (garage work is fine)

How about pay someone a few bucks to do it for..just for the trouble. Or, do what I did when first learning. Take one side off. remember how you did it and then use the other side to compare. On another note: you gotta know what you're doing when it comes to brakes man...it's not a show me how thing and you're all set. remember, brakes are responsible to stop you. :-) give me a pm if you want. I'm usually home in the afternoons.
Cheers and good luck!

the brakes are easy to change. And pretty much once you are show or do it you will be able to do it again. IT is not as hard as Ceeker is making it seem.
go to Canadian Tire and buy the Haynes manual. It is super easy. The only thing is, get ready to need to rebuild the calipers. But again, very easy to do. All laid out in the Haynes.
if you have time, buy all your parts from www.autopartsway.ca

Again I have the parts, I read tons of material "i think" I have the idea how they work, but never done it "hands-on experience". Scared to touch it myself first time.

when in doubt-youtube it...... this applies to everything except open heart surgery! Even if you can't find a video with the exact same car as yours the principles are the same...

If you're going to pay someone to do it. I'm down. I got every weekday off until 5pm.

Yeah, let Sam do it... he'll probably do your ball joints while he's at it!

I think I saw Sam's car at e30 meet with some serious engine swap. Respect.
Ceeker offered some help not too far so thanks guys glad this community is strong because I hate taking my car to shops.

I'm actually doing a brake job this weekend (hopefully) on my 330Xi. Just awaiting confirmation of the parts delivery. You're welcome to come by and we can do yours as well.

If you end up doing it yourself, inspect the brakes and lines before you crack them open as you might need your car to get to the dealer/store to pick up parts you didn't expect you'd need. Also a C clamp with about a 4" opening is helpful when pushing the pistons back in as they'll likely need to be to fit over the rotors with new pads.
