London Ontario Safety Inspection

Hello, first of all this is my first post here, im planning to buy the next Wednesday a 1996 BMW 318is in Toronto to a particular seller, I have to take the car in London to a shop for make the Safety Inspection, I have two questions:
1.- Before buying the car what should I check in the car??? I made a road test of the car and it feels really good.
2.- In London Ontario can you recommend me a shop to take the car to the safety inspection and not get steal from them?
