It worked for me 2 weeks ago. I had expired plates and so didn't need to return them. I bought a 2 year vehicle permit, had to pay $20 for new plates and saved $100

Sweet, could I ask which location? So do they make you return them if they aren't expired?

Well, I just did it and it worked fine. You don't have to return the plates, you just have to say you're holding on to them and they put that in their system.

^So I will not get issues if I got plates sitting in my garage? I noticed a lot of new BH/J plates, so I think some people know the trick..
