with all this talk of germany it seems like they're still in the tourney. we can resume this topic at the next world championships when germany hosts. now on to tonight's game between canada and russia. its gonna be interesting to say the least.

also, i just finished watching the usa/switzerland game. that was a lot closer than one would think.

this is what i hate about the olympics.

Its either reallly close, or a ****ing domination...... They pounded Germany, then they pounded Russia... Like those games are not even fun to watch, its just stupid. No competition... Then they play USA and they get beat.... like they choke or somehting.

i'm actually pissed off that they won like that. it means they were slacking in the other games or taking them more lightly. maybe not the game against the US but the other ones for sure. we need consistency.

the other two evening games were surprising. i thought sweden and czech republic would make it through but instead we have slovakia and finland.

We had loads of fun watching the over-hyped Russians get pounded into submission. We haven't won a game vs. Russia in Olympic competition for 50 years - it was a historic event you will see on highlight reels for decades.

Canada didn't choke against the US, Miller was on fire and they threw everything at him. Doubt he can repeat that, it was like 45 shots with 19 in the first period alone. It doesn't happen every night.

LUONGO is the difference.

that's not very impressive. the reason canada lost to the russians at the olympics for 50 years was because professional players were not allowed, and the amateur russian players were better because they actually were able to play and practice together months before each olympics, and since fewer russians were actually playing in the nhl, they had a greater amount of skilled players labeled as amateurs that were able to play. its not a fair comparison.
