Who said Ford was inexpensive.



Buy from the big 3, buy local. What a joke. I was thinking of buying a newer vehicle and possibly a Ford, it's not going to happen, not after what they charge me for a fuel part.

I have a 98 Ford E350 Turbo diesel. It started to leak fuel for the past few weeks. I finally found where it is leaking. There is a fuel line about 2 feet long going from the fuel filter located on top of the engine to the right cylinder head. Keep in mind it's a 2 feet long. Ford just quoted me $108. I can go to Canadian Tire and get a 3 foot long fuel line for $7. What the hell are they thinking of. Buy Ford yeah right.

small parts like that are bad but every dealership is the same. i had to pay 120 a hr labour! at downtown chrysler. bmw toronto around the corner only charges 108 hr IIRC that was a fml moment.

I just don't see how these guys sell cars... especially the Japs... lexus wants as much for their cars as benz does... c63 or IS-F... if you have to think for longer than a cunt-hair your on drugs...

But it's like every other dealership.
The hose is pobably $15 and the rest for labour.

I wish, $108 is just for the fuel line. Labour is $285 plus the fuel line, total with taxes $452.

I fixed the problem. I used the ends from the original line. Purchased 4' fuel line from a local auto supply store. Total cost $4.28. Plus 4 hours of labour, Free!

Actually I can't complain about the E350 Turbo Diesel.

My actual repair bill for 340,000km not including oil changes and tires has been just over $2,500. That comes to $.0074 / per mile.

Sorry don't have it. However it goes from the fuel filter to the back of the passanger cylinder head. It's the only one routed under the turbo.

I had to replace the main feed line on my Hino last fall. Hino wanted $1200 for a 60" hard steel line that was prebent with fittings etc. I just used copper pipe and brazed on the fittings, cost: $40 pipe + $3 rod.

It depends, i drive a high milage Ford (412K+) and its more reliable then a lot of BMW's out there (including my E36 and E46).

BUT it does not come cheap! It costs me more to mentain then a BMW, prices at the dealer are crazy, and they are not available everywhere (tottaly unexpected for a domestic).
