I will be doing this in the spring. I have magnaflo 14815's on right now with resonaters. Not loud enough for me. I am cutting both magnaflo's off and installing two dual 3" tips. Lots of videos of people doing this and there is no drowning if resonaters kept on. It sounds the way the BMW V8 should have sounded from the factory.

Hustler and Dado 540 nice work ... I would love to see the video how this setup sound with silencer gone and resonator and muffler in place... My ride is in storage for the winter, but i already got exhaust shop all booked in the spring..

Jer23 you absolutely correct all the reports from this mod indicate: If you don't touch resonator there is no drowning..

This mod is totally number 1 on the list.

I drove around a little today with the window down, it sounds awesome still. Not excessive at all, and very civilized if you're putting around.

Still highly recommended.

Hustler Thanks for the update... Im so pumped for this mod.. I got the money all ready for Remus setup.. But now i can purchase my front M bumper instead

Dado can you upload a vid., or sound clip .. just want to hear the setup you running. Curious to see if the sound much quieter than silencer and muffler delete.

Thanks Pal.

Here we go, the long awaited video sound clip.

It got dark so you cant see anything, but you'll hear the beast.

Camera used is iPhone, still sounds decent. Hopefully you guys have decent speakers with a woofer

Dado .. Good work man .. sounds awesome.. I love that deep tone roar.. now i just have to decide cut off the silencer and muffler or just silencer... I hear few pops from exhaust is it camera microphone or it does pop once in a while?

Once again thank you for the clip

The pop you hear is backfire. It pops when you rev it hard.

My brother is telling me to cut the muffler as well and just run a straight 3'' out. There are a few vids on youtube with the muff and silencer removed. It sounds a bit more roary. Im seriously considering it.

If and when you decide to sell the mufflers, let me know!

Thanks for the vid. That sounds pretty good. Not at all what I was expecting.

I listen to a lot of clips and read few post regarding this mod.. personally i find when you cut resonator and the silencer and leave the muffler it sounds more deeper tone... but the problem with that you lose HP and Torque... Dyno proven...so the way to go .. is eliminate muffler and silencer... and leave resonator present ... the tone of the exhaust not as deep but still rocks the house.. There is few vids on youtube guys with dual customs exhaust on 540's and the sound they produce almost equally achieved by doing this mod... and saving bunch of $$$$

Update: I had to sit in stop and go traffic for a long time today, and it smelled pretty hot back there - I think I'm going to have to get a tailpipe of some sort added on ...

hustler you should do that asap. leaving it like that will most likely allow smoke to get into the cabin through the rear door. Right now you are shooting exhaust fumes just under the rear passenger door. Keep in mind that unless you are running the straight pipe through the bumper, you should curve it down to shoot all the condensation and smoke into the ground.

I did a test run with mine before i had the curve piece welded on, and all the moisture and smoke were coming through the top part of the bumper just under the trunk latch. Now pipes are poined down so no problems.
