Post Wanted: Reliable contractor to renovate bathroom

Hi Everyone...

So we've just purchased our first house

I'm looking for a reliable and capable contractor to renovate the bathroom.

We're going to need:

1) Bathtub replaced
2) The drywall around the bathtub replaced+new tiles put in
3) New faucets installed in bathtub/shower
4) New toilette installed

I can probably do the easy work (replace the toilette). I have friends who say they can do the tub etc. Not happening.

I'm looking for a contractor that will get this work done in a timely manner and has the experience necessary to do the job properly.

I'm a little weary about simply cracking open the yellowpages because of all of the horror stories about contractors. Last this I need is for this to turn into a "Silverman Helps" story.

Thanks in advance!

- Adam

Thank You for your replies - got a few PM's...

If you have any personal experience with the people you're recommending it would be preferrable!

Depending on what you are comfortable with make sure they have current liability insurance and are licensed.

Screw the contractor (no offence to contractors), just get a licensed plumber/dry waller/tile guy/. You dont need a contractor for a bathroom reno (unless you want to pay more). You should be able to say how you want the bathroom to look, where you want the fixtures to be roughed-in etc. The tradesmen will handle the rest.
