Try switching to Rogers and see if that helps?

Rogers also does. Enable encryption (or whatever your software calls it). It fools the network by disguising the packet so their sniffiers can't detect it's a torrent. I use Vuse, and it automatically detects my Roger's network on installation and configures itself to fool the network. I can get speeds in excess of 200kb/s per file downloading. Rogers 10mb extreme. Remember files with a low host total will take longer to download. If try to find files with a high host to leech ratio.

the answer is no.

Encrypted data is now throttled. (selectively)
HTTP direct filetransfers are also throttled (based on DNS blacklist)

bell is the shittiest ISP i've ever imagined.

You're uncapped from 2am to 11am. (the only reason i dont switch is bell is free (parents work) and in those 9 hours i download .8-.9mb/s.

i have rogers express, 10 Mbps and use uTorrent.

i download anywhere from 400-1000kb per sec on torrents.
lower end for public trackers. i only use private tracker websites.

standard download now is 600kb.

get rid of bell!

Bell DSL..

They monopolized the market here in my area..

Uhm, downloading @ 100kb/sec.. If this isn't capped, and normal pace.. wow!

75,000 seeders, and only 7000 leechers.

Keep your eyes open for a company called Cogeco. They are bigger in the west end (mostly for TV services), but have put themselves in a position to potentially branch out across the G.T.A. offering Fiber-optic internet.

At my office my internet is 100Mbit up & down. The actual speed realized is more like 30-40kb/s during office hours. I regularly see 1.5 - 2 MB/s when downloading with Vuze or Utorrent.

I can't comment on their residential services but on the business side, no throttling, no data caps, 99.9% up time.

We used to load balance over 5 separate connections.
This was the best I.T. move our company has made.

Switch to Teksavvy ... it's Bell underneath, but with MLPPP you can bypass the throttling.

^^for now, that's very likely to change in the (immediate) future.

Arek, read my post. You're uncapped 2am to 11am.

propr'one,

You are right. It is uncapped, because I woke up that morning and resumed my DL @ 100kmb/sec

I guess ill just download inbetween those times, until i find a different internet service

Cheerio

+1 imo best service customer support.

im using CIK telecom, its a company leasing its line from teksavvy. same prices. dunt have to pay for the modem, but their suport aint as good, and its a chinese based company.

non the less, im paying the ssame price as teksavvy. but unlimited bandwith. been downloading 300-400gb a month. no complaints. i reach speeds up to 500-1mb sometimes. depends on the seeds.

i used to use rogers, untill it started charging me 200$ a month for over bandwith thats when i called and said **** you ..

oh btw, 300-400gb not from torrents. megaupload + rapidshare with a download manager ftw

Teksavvy doesn't lease lines to anyone. All copper is owned by mabell.
